We varied the frequency of QX9650 to see how Gaming performance is affected. Have a look.

PostSubject: Great article!   Thu May 21, 2009 2:38 pm

This is the article that first got me interested in your website. I also really like the article you did on GPU SLI analysis. Because of what I read in these two articles, I decided to upgrade to a q9650 to run at 4GHz and SLI GTX 285's. If it hadn't been for you, I'd probably be running an i7 CPU and a single GTX260 or 285. The gaming gains I have are so much better than my friends with i7 processors (even OC'd to higher clocks) are huge, because of my SLI setup. Thanks for your hard work! You have the best reviews I've found on the web, mostly due to the fact that you use proper methods in your testing! I've seen so many places with biased reviews, or with reviews that simply don't show you any gains from one setting/stepping to the next. So many of them say things such as, "Overclocking doesn't get you very good gains" and “SLI just isn’t worth it.” However, I find that your site closely matches up with my results when I run benchmarks on my system with a similar settings enabled.

I've become so dependent on you for reliable information, that when I read the reviews showing that the 4890 kills the GTX285, especially in Xfire/SLI arrangements, it makes me wish you would review the 4890 so that I could find out if it were actually true or not. (don't get me wrong, I'm not a fanboy. However, when I see the poor performance that these reviewers are getting with the GTX285 on the same or better setup than I have, it makes me wonder!)

Thanks for all your work, and keep it up!

Hey Ransom,

Welcome to the forum Smile

Thanks for all your comments. I am glad my work has been of good use to you. I hear you when you say how other sites are biased and what not. Infact, incorrect information posted by people on forums and biased reviews is what motivated me to build my website and give people some honest numbers, and hopefully shake off some stereotypes related to gaming. All the stuff that you see on my site is done on my personal hardware. I would love to review other hardware, especiall 48XX ATI cards and I am hoping that I will start getting free samples some day.

I do, however plan on doing reviews on AMD Phenox X4 940 and ATI 4850 GPU soon. This is something I built for my brother. I try to update my site as often as I can, but as you can probably tell, the updates arent that frequent. Some of the articles take several weekends of raw data collecting followed by analysing, and then finally typing it up and posting on the site. Thanks again for appreciating my work Smile
